Freshfield Mark Lodge Installation 26th April 2019

On 26th April Worshipful Bro. Cliff Boynton installed Brother John Wootton into the Chair of Adoniram and what a delightful Ceremony it was. The Installing Master’s preparation for the Inner Workings showed in the excellent manner in which the Traditional History and signs were explained.
The Worshipful Master was ably assisted by senior members of the Lodge and in particular the hard worked and underpaid Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro John Mawdsley PGJD proved his worth by explaining the Working Tools and then going on to Address the Master and also the Overseers. W.Bro Roger Watkinson PGSD also gave the Address to the Warden’s in an exemplary manner.
The evening was enhanced by the attendance of W.Bro Giles Berkley PGStwd, Assistant Provincial Grand Master. He was accompanied and supported by W.Bro David Rotheram GSD and W.Bro Graham Corday GStwd resplendent in their Chains of Office.
The evening was also enhanced by the attendance of W.Bro Brian Fox and W.Bro Steven Walls, both PAGDC who escorted the Assistant Provincial Grand Master.

The Provincial Grand Master’s Special Representative W.Bro Maurice Evans PGSD was also pleased to be in attendance and of course the Lodge’s own Grand Officers were out in force.
Charitable donations of over £1,600 were gratefully received.
The Festive Board was a Freshfield classic – noisy but full of joy and goodwill.

Giles was obviously well prepared for his reception when called upon to reply to the Toast to Grand Officers and donned sound mufflers of the sort worn trackside at F1 Racing Grand Prix. He also had a decibel monitor and recorded a maximum reading of 97.6 db. Which is equivalent to being 300 yards away from a jumbo jet at takeoff!

All concerned will remember a splendid evening of the best that the Mark degree can offer.
